3. Consumers Continue to Trade Up to Organic Apples

Washington State’s organic apple acreage has shown a steady increase in recent years. “About 40 percent of our apples are grown organically,” says Blake Belknap with Rainier Fruit. The company offers a full menu of organic apples with supplies available through summer on Galas, Fujis, Pink Ladies, Honey Crisp, and Granny Smith. “This is the 5th consecutive season we offer year-round availability of Washington organic apples,” Belknap added.  Read More 

4. Whole Foods Market Set to Debut in Montana

Next month, Whole Foods Market is slated to open its first store in Montana. Plans call for Austin, TX-based Whole Foods, owned by Amazon, to open the doors to a 31,718-square-foot store in Bozeman on Feb. 1. The new location, at 2905 W.
